Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish

Sally Hansen

Miracle Gel Nail Polish

Jewelmint Ring

I am a mani/pedi fanatic, and I spend WAAAY too much time and money getting my nails done at the salon. The problem is, I also have a terrible habit of picking at my fingers (gross, I know), so my nail polish never lasts very long. I discovered gel nail polish a few years ago, and absolutely love it! It stays on longer, my nails are less prone to breaking and chipping, and you don’t have to worry about messing up the polish because it’s completely dry before you even walk out of the salon! However, gels can be expensive, especially when you have Nail Polish ADD like I do, and want to change it every week (even though it has the potential to stay on for 2 weeks or so).

I had heard about at-home gel kits before, but you had to buy a UV light to dry the polish, and that was always a little off-putting. I never wanted to spend the money, nor did I want another contraption to fit in my bathroom.
I first heard about Sally Hansen Miracle Gel about a month ago, and knew I had to try it! What makes it so different from other gel products is that it doesn’t require a UV light. All you do is apply your polish and then a setting top coat…that’s it! Also, if you’ve tried gel nails before, you will know that getting them off can be a royal pain, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the polish was to remove.
I was pretty skeptical when I first brought this product home. It claims to last two weeks, but I had my doubts. I will say, it didn’t last two weeks on me (because of the nail picking…like I said…gross, I know.), but it did last WAY longer than when I do my nails with regular polish. I was pretty impressed with the consistency and smooth application. It didn’t dry instantly, but it did dry much faster than normal nail polish. There was very, very minor chipping that occurred after a few days, but for the most part, my nails looked pretty good all week.
The line comes with  a bunch of different colors, which is great for my Nail Polish ADD:-) I picked up the color  B Girl, which is a pretty mint color…and I love it! Some other colors I cannot wait to try are RedgyMalibu Peach, and Tidal Wave.
All in all, I will definitely be re-purchasing this product. Each polish is about the same price as regular nail polish, so the way I see it, if I’m going to be spending the money anyways, I might as well buy a polish I know will stay on longer.
